India, one of the most populated countries in the world, is preparing itself to organize the most famous professional poker tourney for the first time, which will be named Indian Poker Tour (IPT).

The decision to create this tourney in the Asian country comes from the big success obtained by Indian players in the Asian Poker Classic and its main objective is to ensure that the game of Poker in India develops in a responsible and highly professional fashion. This is why, as part or the IPT program, an educational project will be developed that will include the creation of Poker schools in which people interested in the game will receive training.

The tour will start in September and it will first land in the city of Mumbai, then it will travel to Bangalore and New Delhi, ending up in the state of Goa.

Imran Hassan, the operations director, declared: “Our goal is to add poker to the pastimes of the card and sport-crazed fans of India,” “India traditionally has had a long history of being a card-loving nation. So we hope the launch of the India Poker Tour (IPT) will now help to satisfy India’s craving for skill based card games.”
