The Coast-to-Coast Poker Championships will be held in May in Richmond at the River Rock Casino and it will be the first event of the WPT Canada. British Columbia Corporation will be in charge of the organization of the tournament, which is expected to attract thousands of players.
The tournament will start on May 5 and continue until May 13 and the expected prize pool is about $2.4 million. There will be several preliminary events including NL Texas Hold’em, Pot-Limit Texas Hold’em and Omaha High Mix plus a bounty event and a Mother’s Day Team Tournament.
“I'm thrilled to be part of the Coast to Coast Poker Championships. I look forward to lots of good poker action, and knocking out some of my Western opponents,” Canadian professional poker player Gavin Smith said while promoting the Coast-to-Coast Poker Championships.
The Main Event will take place on May 9-10 with a $2,800+$200 buy-in and a top prize of about $377,300. In order to qualify, players must sign up in any of the many satellite tournaments that will be held this month.
