There is no doubt this year started in the best possible way for Erick Seidel, one of the best poker players nowadays. The American veteran player was victorious at the $25,000 High Roller event at the LA Poker Classic and collected $144,570. Thanks to this victory, he is now behind Daniel Negreanu in the all-time poker money list and close to replacing him in the first position.

Recent results show High Roller tournaments are his specialty. Seidel won the $250,000 Super High Roller event at the Aussie Millions at the beginning of the year and claimed a prize of $2.5 million. He also finished third in a $100,000 event and added $618,139 to his bankroll.

When there were only three players left in the poker table, Seidel made a deal with Darren Elias and Bertrand Grospellier to divide the money and they continued playing just for the title. Grospellier ended in third position with $153,975 and Elias ended in second place with $153,975.

Erik Seidel is a 51-year old professional player from Las Vegas. Last year he was inducted in the Poker Hall of Fame due to his lifetime achievements. He is now short from becoming the new number one player in the all-time poker money list.
